In 2024 we completed 6 activity rotations and completed the following activivties:
Ngatuhoa Falls walk and Swim - 2 hour round trip (double block session)
Abseiling Lower Wall
Kayaking and Balance Beam
Tubing lower and upper depending on level of students
Jumping hole/Swimming Hole as a combined activity over an hour (this could be combined and with tubing done as one session).

We also completed the Burma Trail in one evening and a walk up the main road to find Glow worms.
Abseiling is a fun and exciting activity to safely introduce students to height. The aim of this activity is to expose participants to heights in a safe and positive learning environment.
The Challenge Course is a series of obstacles that participants work through to arrive at the end. The aim of the activity is to encourage teamwork, communication, problem solving and also challenge individuals.
The aim of activity is to introduce to the participants the basics of kayaking skills and confidence on the water.
The Balance Challenge is a fun opportunity to hold your own against your opponent on the balance beam or to challenge your own balancing skills to get across.
The hike to the base of the falls from the lodge is approx. 30 minutes. There is good swimming at the base of the waterfall (usually 45 min) leaving enough time for the hike back up to the lodge of around 40 min.
Tubing in the river is an exciting activity that aims to provide a fun experience in the water.
The ZipLine is a fun and exciting activity designed to safely introduce participants to heights. The aim of this activity is to expose participants to heights in a safe and positive learning environment.

The Compass Course is a great activity to introduce participants to using a compass navigation.
Fire starting is an essential skill for outdoor exploration. The aim of this activity is to instruct students on how, when, and where to light a fire.
The Swimming and Jumping Holes are a fun way to cool off after a hot day in the sun.
Sleeping in a Bell Tent is an exciting experience. The aim of this activitiy is to teach participants about tenting and confidence building
Mountain biking is a fun and exciting activity that aims to provide participants with the experience of biking through the NZ bush.
Orienteering is a great skill to have and a fun activity that aims to teach participants how to navigate using a map.
The aim of this activity is to give participants the opportunity to learn where, when and how to cross a river safely. Rivers are one of the biggest killers in the New Zealand bush and it is extremely important that participants are aware of this.
